  21.   I am not sure what you mean by blocked.

  23.   If you mean that the CAPS LOCK key comes on on booting, yes, that is part of
  24. the power-up test.  If it stays on, that means there is a problem in the
  25. keyboard electronics.  The keyboard won't work in this case, even though the
  26. mouse and software will run.

  28.   The fix depends on what is broken.  If it is the keyboard itself, it will need
  29. to be replaced; that is about $60 US (depending on where you go).  If you have a
  30. friend with another A500, you can swap keyboards, it is a quick way to test the
  31. problem.

  33.  If the keyboard is OK, then it could be any of several chips on the
  34. motherboard.  I haven't worked on the insides of an A500 in a while, but I think
  35. that one of the CIAs controls the keyboard, and they can be swapped for a quick
  36. test.

  38.   Another possibility is a bad connection to the keyboard connector, or
  39. something shorting the keyboard circuits.  If you pull the keyboard out, and it
  40. works, then it just might be one of these, and fixing the connection won't cost
  41. much.
